I didn't realize that what an artist does or doesn't do could somehow
affect your aesthetic judgement. If the music is good, you like it. If
the music is not good, you don't like it. (I am assuming you have good
taste here) It's your prerogative to not buy anyone's record for whatever
reason. But an artist's actions should have no bearing on your judgement
of their music.
Kenny can spin wherever he wants, if you don't like the venue--don't go.
You've made it clear that you aren't. Hey, I hate it just as much when the
masses start obliterating the fine line between slammin' techno and
bullshit, but to start badmouthing an artist (especially one that really
does kick out good tracks) in public for where he's been hired to spin is
unnecessary. You never know, he could enlighten some of those people in
the crowd and show them what techno really is. Just because you were lucky
enough to be exposed to the good shit doesn't mean you should keep it under
lock and key and keep it from everyone else. Who made you the trustee of
techno?
