don't hold your breath. moonshine isn't doing JDJ's anymore. (of course they stop before the brilliant one comes out...) ____ Hug Your Waistline to the Bassline Tamara Palmer trance@netcom.com http://www.interverse.com/~tamara/righting.html Women Respond to Bass

I just placed an order for JDJ-Coldcuts with Beat Non Stop in Los Angeles. They said they could get some copies. E-mail me, and maybe I can have them order some extra copies (but please please please don't snake my copy.) -Phil [----------] [---] [-----] [-----] [-----] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [--------] [-----] [-----] [---] [-----] [----------] Home is where the stereo is!

Its a CD. Great stuff. If you know and like Richie Hawtin's own music (very imaginative loops with a bubbly acid twist,) then you'll like this mix. He uses about 30% of his own stuff, and the rest fits in great with his style. Track listing: Dry Ray - Lausen Quovadis - G-Man Empower - Octave One Jump - Mark Broom (I can't wait to see him with Autrechre!) The Wipe - Teste 5 Mouths - Fred Fresh Basic Needs - Goio Substance Abuse - FUSE Spaz - Plastikman Helikopter - Plastikman Percussion Electrique - Dwarf Spastik - Plastikman Eye Trip - Akilah Bryant Toddsines - X-Trak Electricity - Naughty & Tolis Dollar - Tobias Schmidt Live Wire - DBX Venus Flytrap - Too Funk Cash Machines - Synchrojack Key Follow - Paul Hannah Harz - Sensorama Altes Testament - Ramon IV It was recorded live at The Building, Windsor, Canada. I'll let other people describe this mix more technically. I'm a big Richie Hawtin fan, and this is a great overview of his little corner of the IDM world. -Phil [----------] [---] [-----] [-----] [-----] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [--------] [-----] [-----] [---] [-----] [----------] Home is where the stereo is!

Am I the only person who doesn't really care for this Mixmag CD? I like Richie's own tracks, but they stand out like a sore thumb on this exercise. Most of the rest of it is *extremely* minimalist House, with about 3-4 sounds (tracks) per song. "Substance Abuse" (F.U.S.E.) sounds positively FSOL-ian (sonic density wise) in comparison to the rest of this stuff. Boring IMHO. - Greg

Seems I am on the wrong side of the Atlantic for a change. Suppose it's only fair since all the limited Rephlex goodies never seem to reach the US. Mmmm. If anyone would be willing to pick up copies of Hawtin's #1 & #2 and swap them with me for something (wouldn't really know exactly what at the moment, but I'm sure we could work something out), I would be really grateful. Is it true that these two 12"'s are the first two of a series of 12 records Hawtin's going to release this year? If so, this mail will probably pop up in your mail boxes a few times more in the future :( Bye, Maarten
