Dont flame me if this has already been mentionned or beaten to death but with 2 major crash i lost my mailbox and have not been really up to date on my email since september because of that... Anyway, i saw Killing Zoe a while ago, and was struck by the technoish soundtrack. Well i finally picked up a copy of the soundtrack, and well how come we have never heard of tomandandy, the team who wrote this soundtrack, which is brilliant. In fact, i cant think of a better idm/techno soundtrack than this. Mortal Kombat was a bit on the commercial side, Cool world (excellent) had a bit too much non techno, strange days uneven and too much rock etc... In fact, in every soundtrack i have listened to, it's either only techno but too commercial, or a mixed bag of compromises (mix of industrial, techno, rock and ballads). And no Tracy Lords of this rekkid! :) Even vibrations had commercial stuff like utah saints or u96... Anybody else heard this? # soundtrack. Well i finally picked up a copy of the soundtrack, and well # how come we have never heard of tomandandy, the team who wrote this # soundtrack, which is brilliant. they've been around a while. haven't heard this soundtrack, but they're on the comp "Killer Techno" released in '92 with a track called Indians (and don't laugh, i'm rather partial to the aircut track on that comp). they're listed as T. Hadju and A. Milburn in the credits, with the track being produced by tomandandy and published by tomandandy music. bella """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" bella@hyperreal.com http://hyperreal.com/~bella/ """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Actually, if I remember correctly, tomandandy are the music arm of the British design/advertising firm Tomato. jmar! | J M R T N K O | fonstrosities and other toys by ILLGBLITY ENGNRING. | | D S G N E T C | JOHN-A MARTINKO, w. desk chief martinko@netcom.com |

we had this discussion a little while ago. there was a short-lived show on mtv many years back called "Buzz" which i quite liked, and the music for that series was by tomandandy. really great stuff, more like MBM hiphop/cutups than overtly techno, though. i asked about them after i saw killing zoe (check the list archives) but i don't think much is known about them. they've done some stuff for laurie anderson. i haven't heard it. -- Name: Jon Email: jsd@cyborganic.com Web: http://www.cyborganic.com/People/jsd

Yes, i saw your message, along with greg and john bus, and you were all asking about these guys. But nothing much except for Buzz. I still cant figure out how they kept such a low profile. BTW, the subtitles rarely fit the actual expressions used in french in this movie, and it's really cool to watch it more than once to compare (and to really note where the music is used...) I've actually had some contact with them through my job, and they're actually a mid-size music house based in New York with about 15 composers working for them. I got the impression that they did quite a bit of advertising music and film trailers as well.
