first a bit about some recent purchases: Born Under a Rhyming Planet (+8, sorry, forgot the catalog #) I feel a little strange reviewing this here, nevertheless i will do my best to inform. I'm not a big ambient-head, but i haven't really bought a very chilled record in a while so i grabbed this one. And i don't regret it (yet). It's a very quiet, chilled record. There are beats, which frequently sound funk-ish, or dub-ish, but they're way down in the mix. The sounds are frequently tinny, but they are spread out (i guess you could say minimalistic). Overall, i would say this record has a lot of ideas on it -- it's interesting to listen to, and perhaps with time it will become inspiring as well. Oh, and the tracks are: (on lovely transparent magenta vinyl) A1 Admire the architecture A2 Elephant A3 Admire the furniture B1 Spasm band B2 Smerdyakov with a gun Acid Pimp: Fire (in acid) b/w Strawberries (in acid) Cheshire 002 kinda old two-tracker; more 'tracky' than i usually go for. i bought it for the b-side, which is a very tasty electro-acid track, which makes good hip-hop at about 33 +4. a-side is tracky acid techno. Also got an old BFC (carl craig ep) to try and understand what techno people mean when they say "funk" (i'm still not sure) and the old depth charge full length. My questions: what is the correct URL for multipara's homepage? what label is the only extant Germ full-length on? is it my imagination, or did a Carl Craig comp. come out on R&S this summer; if so, what tracks are on it? uh, that's it... thanks for your help & patience evry body {no sig} -nick

ah! nice to see there are still people out there who care! :-) ...well, the old url address doesn't exist anymore, and i don't know when i'll be able to get a new one (i tried to get a new personal homepage here at my uni, but they're debating that there won't be *any* personal homepages. bummer...) but don't give up hope, i'll infor you when i'm back. nevertheless, i'm still updating the info i had on my pages, so if people are interested to get info, just mail me what you want and i'll mail it to you. i have some stuff for people interested in cologne/kaiserslautern stuff (esp. biochip c.) plus assorted other bits (basic channel, relief). thanks for your interest... p. on last: some charlie parker rarities collection on savoy records
