Hello to all from the Big Easy... Picked up Sound Patrol :: Sweetened (No Lemon) on vinyl for a little over $10 at Tower. Its a double LP of remixes from the CD album --- very tasty, very idm, varied from detroit to melodic acid to funky house --- elegant in spots, driving in spots...mostly 124 -126 bpm...if i may make a comparison, kinda' like a more commercial Eat Static (IMHO)...I liked it enough to get the CD also which has more songs, more melodic songs, shorter mixes...better than the vinyl for listening through. I would be interested in other opinions...my heat-proof suit is ready! :) Rx = Sound Patrol Dr. Z

SORRY but i tend to disagree with you on this one. i don't think this lp resembles any of Eat static's material in the slightest. Derrick Carter's sound, the man behind Sound Patrol, is a hell of a lot more thoughtful, soulful, and smooth than Eat Static have ever sounded. I think you're talking about two totally different approaches to music making, and i also find Eat Static to be far more commercial in terms of using catchy melodies and the like. just my opinion, as i find Derrick Carter's music much more appealing.
