This is the most unhinged thing anyone has posted to this list in years, i love it. -kiya www.selfedge.com (http://www.selfedge.com) -----Original Message----- From: Rjyan Kidwell <cexwell@gmail.com> Sent: Apr 28, 2025 1:17 PM To: idm list <idm@hyperreal.org> Subject: breakbeat beast ctrl-freq star dot star Hey does anybody here know what day Current Value was born on? On a hunch I started looking up the birthdays of various producers I feel to be icons of complicated drum programming/breakbeat rearrangement. In my mind, the most cliche sign for a complicated-breaks-arranger would be Virgo, the sign most strongly identified with meticulous attention to detail and the "control issues" which often manifest through meticulous attention to detail. Turns out Photek, LTJ Bukem, and Goldie are all Virgos. RDJ is a Leo on the Virgo cusp. Parradinas is a Libra on the other Virgo cusp. Strangely, rather than spilling all over the spectrum, the counterexamples I could think of seem to cluster tightly: Liam Howlett, Kid606, and Burial are all Leos like Richard (Howlett being born exactly on the Leo-Virgo cusp.) Tom Jenkinson and Aaron Funk are both Capricorns. Vibert, Amon Tobin, and A Guy Called Gerald are all Aquarians. Anyway, I reached out to Bogdan via email to try and get his day, but I haven't found Current Value's date of birth in any of the search engines and was hoping maybe somebody here could provide it, for science. -rk
