well then there is the great possibility of signal loss resulting in the same occurrence as a faulty cable. sorry, that thought was on my mind, even though i sympathize witrh the sentiment. but really...why must this argument come up? both kinds of media have their strengths and weaknesses. a lot of great-sounding music has been captured on analog and then mixed or remastered in digital. not to mention gear of both stripes creating its own sound. don't forget people using whatever means necessary to create. not everyone can afford the technology necessary to make music digitally. if all you can manage is a secondhand casio and a $20 cassette deck, you could find a way to be creative that way. in fact i'm sure several albums have been made with that kind of setup, the lo-fi sound becoming hip in the process. so let's stop this argument right here and say: to each their own, and whatever works. d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
