Wow, I always thought Cleopatra & Invisible were total
shit labels. I mean embarassingly bad! The only cool
things that that Cleopatra/Hypnotic ever put out was
Kraftwerk & FSOL. Just because they happen to license
two good releases doesn't make them a good label when
the other 99% of the back catalog is total crap. The
only good thing on Invisible was Not Breathing. I
think Warp's history is FAR FAR better than that.

I don't think Warp wants to pigeonhold themselves to
one style of music. They've obviously have shown
interest in indie material releasing Stereolab,
Broadcast, hip hop with the Lex label, experimental
with like of Masami Akita & Russell Haswell and Jamie
Lidell etc.
I don't think they expect everyone to like all their
releases. Perhaps they are trying to attract different
audiences to their label.

Artists should push themselves so that they don't keep
re-hashing the same kind of material over and over.

Tribute albums usually blow with few exception. I
think it's rather pathetic that the only way Cleopatra
has managed to stay around is putting out tribute cds.

Very little idm is innovative these days. Sure, it has
all the clever tricks dsp, randomness, clicks,
stutters and shit, but are the melodies really good? I
think a lot of these tunes are piss poor and they try
to hide that with glitches, etc. Well when everyone
does that it makes all the whole genre kind of boring.
It's obvious from the content on this list that few
people are inspired by the music coming out.
