I have seen in 3 times with the band and twice as a DJ and I must say the
band/live format blew me away.
Herbert is one of the most innovative performers I have ever seen because he
actually is sampling himself (and bandmates) live using a system of
microphones and realtime sampling hardware (Lexicon Jam Man I believe).
I saw him perform in Berlin once (to a very picky dance crowd) and he had
the place rolling. He sampled boiling water, coke cans being torn, records
breaking, water bottles (that the crowd had thrown up on stage at his
request), glass breaking and his own voice all of which he looped seemlessly
a top some of the sickest tech house tracks I have ever heard.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out Herbert perform live. That man in a genius!
