I use the PC version of Octamed, for sample stuff and MIDI, and do some post fx with soundforge. I find writing both melody and complex rythym stuff much faster in trackers than anything like cubase. But then it could be because I've been using it since I was 13, and trying to change to a new method over ten years later can be really hard! I think YeeKing uses octamed too (still on the Amiga though).
