I think I mentioned the recent Roger Tubesound album closer to when it
came out. But I'll re-cap anyway... its REALLY good and one of the
most interesting jazz/idm cross-polinations i've ever heard. Some nice
keyboard soloing, insane drum solo cut-ups and the Atom sense of humor
that is present on most of his releases.
On the other hand, I downloaded the Geeez n Gosh album and really
couldn't listen to it. I'm not hugely into the micro-house thing, but
I thought Atom doing it with a gospel twist could be interesting based
on some hype I'd heard. In the end, I don't really recall anything
vaguely relating to gospel beyond the clever song titles. Pass on this
one.
My vote for Atom's next big move is to tackle eastern european gypsy
music and smash it together with some drill n bass. Lord knows that
shit is fast enough to start with. Fingers crossed.
