I would argue this is the opposite of an archaic correlation assumption. This is a shift happening now. Everyday we are guilty and perpetuating male dominance over women. I am. I am trying to be more aware of it. When the name 'beatwife' came up in my email from the idmlist I had to say something. When you post something to a list it enters other's lives. 'beatwife' came into my life. I don't want to live in a world where people say nothing with this sort of garbage. I don't understand how the artist name 'beatwife' isn't normalizing abuse of women. It's saying 'ha! check out my clever name! it's a joke!' this joke isn't funny anymore. men's unchecked dominance must come to an end. one way is to call out ugly, hateful jokes and statements. I'm offended that everyone on this list isn't offended, honestly. I love all the women in my life. My daughter, wife, mom, students... We live in a world that has hated women. Hurt them. Used them and discarded them. It's old. That's the old world. We need to do better. Yes, it's a small deal thats some dope chose this name, but this is really about how people are reacting, because THAT has larger real world implications. It's the mindset.
