I'm no rap expert, but I think there's a lot of interesting stuff out there. I got into it when I was living in a ghetto area in San Francisco, because it seemed to have a lot to say about what was going outside my front door and why. For example there was some 2pac (yes, 2pac) track which my roommate turned me on to which examined the life of a crack dealer - why he got into dealing, how it was benefitting his life in some respects and screwing it up in others. It's easy to dismiss this as self-indulgent/justifying wank, but when these dealers/pimps/hos/etc. are your neighbours and turn out to be real people who have good days and bad days like everyone else, it bears a closer examination. As for rap being crap, 90% of everything is crap, even IDM. Anig Browl _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
