<<I'm talking kicks, recycled but classic chords, catchy monosynth
melodies, and really bad lyrics in European-accented english>>
I believe SCOOTER has that genre by the balls. _Age of Love_ is one of my
most-played albums (it's kind of like progressive trance meets hard rock,
but it fits your description to a tee). They've also got a new one out in
2001 that I haven't heard but it looks like a real tour de force:
Scooter, _No Time to Chill_:
1. Last Warning
2. How Much Is The Fish
3. We Are The Greatest
4. Call Me Manana
5. Don't Stop
6. I Was Made For Lovin' You
7. Frequent Traveller
8. Eyes Without A Face
9. Hands Up!
10. Everything's Borrowed
11. Expecting More From Ratty
12. Time and Space
Just from the titles you can get an inkling of how adroitly they mingle deep
poetic subtlety with hip street smarts. (Yet another post to file under
"things you never thought you'd find yourself writing to the IDM list.")
