well, although i have been enjoying it, i have to agree with nate on the fact that it sounds pretty pristine (in a negative way) compared to their other stuff. the warmth is there for me; I just think the grittiness/detuning of their synths and crunchy drums were what gave that warmth uniqueness in the first place and made me come back to it so often (when I bought both Hi Scores and Music Has the Right to Children, they never left my cd player). regardless, i have been listening to it a lot- with the exception of Zoetrope which is kinda fucking boring- and just hope that BOC continues to evolve. btw, nate: you know you love your orange vocoder!!! z
