actually, the list is not moderated. there is an admin (that's me), and i take care of the list mechanics and such, but there is no one who physically allows or denies messages from reaching the list. if your message was denied by me, then it was because you were posting from an address that was not subscribed to the list, which is a common occurence. those messages get thrown to me, and i bounce them back, figuring that the person will realize their mistake and repost. brian idm-owner ----- Original Message ----- From: Alex <amorken@biosci.cbs.umn.edu> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, June 14, 2000 8:52 AM Subject: [idm] list moderating This list is moderated so why is all this flaming allowed to go on? Who moderates it? I wrote an email asking about record shops in the minneapolis area and my email was denied by the "moderaters." If I am going to get taken out of the discussion when I ask a perfectly fine question dealing with music while many others who have a voice tend to send ego filled mail then this is almost as bad as alt.2600. Would there be a way to get threads banned by voting perhaps, or by someone actually moderating it personally??? just an idea. alex --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
