Another car ad is Arling & Cameron used for Acura. And I also heard "Girl/Boy Song" used for a Special Olympics commercial! A few years ago, his track "Schottkey 7th Path" from the Ambient Works 85-92 was used for a car commercial in France. I don't think artists have anything to do with the fact that their music is used in commercials or not. It's a shame but it's unfortunately the record companies that pull the strings once again. I'm sure RDJ was crying his eyes out when that Caustic Window track was used in a Pirelli ad.....at a rate of 100K per season. Raab Topher <topher@france-techno.fr> wrote:

I wonder who would turn down such an offer. Besides it's a different story: Caustic Window came out on Rephlex which Aphex has a direct link with unlike the Ambient Works that came out on R&S. He probably made good money from the Rephlex one and much less from R&S. All in all, I don't consider it a blasphemy to have an IDM track used in a commercial. If it can spare you several months stuck in a stupid job that you can spend at home making new music instead, it's all good. :-) Topher.
