Well, I for one noticed the same thing about the Azimuth.
Another funny thing: When Speedy J was playing live here in Finland
he borrowed my K2000. Just before his set he came to me and asked
what the hell was wrong with my K2000. I had the _wrong_ sounds
inside, he said. It became clear that he has a K2000 with a newer
operation system and newer _presets_ than I do. I had assumed that
he brings a disk of his own sounds with him but no, he wanted the
presets. I still like his Ginger album very much but this was quite
surprising, indeed. (Well, it can be that he had just got the K2k.)
Also, FSOL certainly uses some preset wave sequences from the Korg
Wavestation in their Amorphous Androgynous album. It is strange that
the WS is not mentioned in their equipment list, though. Perhaps they
sampled it or used some sample CD...
There are more examples of noticeable preset usage but none of them
comes to my mind right now.
(Somehow I feel a bit guilty if I use a preset sound. At least I'll
have to change it a bit.)
