No coincidence - it's him. I can't recall the name of the idm/ambient project he's in (if it is, indeed, different from Dome). Got news for ya ... he's been adapting and evolving the whole time ... (and I'd call Bruce a "Punk pioneer", given that Wire started in 1976 ... ) Every solo record you can find that says "Bruce Gilbert" on the cover - from "This Way" to "The Shivering Man" to "Insiding" to "Music For Fruit" - is total and complete godhead. The man is a total genius ... and he turned 48 this year (he's older than both Bowie and Eno). Yeow!

Does anyone know? I will buy this, unheard. - Greg P.S. This has fuck-all to do with IDM, but hearing Wire's "154" for the first time in 1979 provoked an almost-religious experience ... :-)

Hi! >Wow Bruce Gilbert doing ambient.!?! Have I missed something? I don't remember seeing any messages about (new?) ambient projects of Bruce Gilbert. I've been a great admirer of Bruce Gulbert ever since I heard 'This Way to the Shivering Man'. Following that, I managed to locate 'Insiding' and 'Music for Fruit ...' in my CD-rental place. However, I'm still looking to buy the CD's as I've not seen them in the shops. I know the label is Mute, so I've not given up hope yet. I know that he used to play in Wire. I also found some CD's called Dome1, Dome2, etc. but these are not solo-projects. I have yet to listen to the newly formed 'Wir'. >Please mail some info about Bruce Gilbert's idm/ambient projects. So does anybody have more information ??
