being a big guerilla records fan, i recently picked up trance induction's
"electrickery". it was hard to resist after reading the blurb on the cd
sleeve, to wit:
"an original blend of acid, trance, progressive house and industrial new wave.
spiced with eastern melodies, smoothly distorted guitar riffs and unusual
sampling, trance induction's music explores the spiritual side of contemporary
dance."
well, don't believe the hype...
it's a fairly minimal, highly-analog disc with 11 tracks of 303 and 909.
there are a few references to some eastern melodies, but nothing innovative at
all. track 9, "cyberlog", is a real nice, linear builder with many shades
of LFO and ultramarine, however, and track 10 is a very smooth trance/ambient
12 minute mantra.
if someone played this disc and wanted me to guess what it was, i'd probably
say LFO for sure...
