first off, it's kind of rude to post private mail that someone sends you. just cos you think you got email from richard james and you want to brag it off is no excuse. it's bad netiquette. someone on IDM got email from mixmaster morris and you don't see it posted do you? second, the email is prolly quite fake, cos i sent mail and in less than a secon it had bounced back. someone is prolly getting a real laff out of this, and yes, you can fake email sites and stuff. i don't know how to do it, but i have it down in some issue of phrack or something. those old satan at hell.com gags you know. anyway, ObIDM: When can we expect Mixmaster Morris's new LP and when is Y.A.P.'s new one out? ----The Orbit's 3rd Birthday Pardee!--- line up : 7-8.30 nigel walker 8.30-10 john berry 10-10.45 hardfloor 10.45-11.45 alex night 11.45-12.30 cjbolland & cisco 12.30-2 jeff mills well, it could hardly fail to be brilliant, so when they first told me i couldn't go in coz of dress restrictions (i had shorts on) i nearly cried, but i blagged my way in, and thank god i did! when i first walked in, we were handed a glass of champagne, and confronted by the toga clad legions, well, there were a few anyway. :) they had the usual excellent light show, and also four huge balloons, about 2 metres across which were abruptly ripped from the ceiling and bounced about the place which was an awesome sight from the gallery... :) the first two dj's were pretty good and played some cool stuff, but i was stocking up on energy and drink for the 10-2 onslaught... hardfloor played a very hardfloor set, nothing unusual, but still good, and great to dance to. alex night was ok, too, but it was cj and jeff mills that i was really looking forward to, so i didn't pay too much attention to his set. when cj came on, he played a brilliant set which wasn't prone to the water dripping from the ceiling into the instruments which had killed speedy j a few weeks ago... there was a lot from the 4th sign, and some other stuff i didn't recognise, but it was quite hard and everyone was into it, which was cool - i'm so used to crappy clubs, finding this on my doorstep(ish) is so relieving. the atmosphere is so good as well, people shaking your hand, passing drinks, joints. all very idylic. a cool break from the world outside... jeff mills. if you've ever seen him live, then you'll know what i mean. wow. :) he started his set with a voice saying about the start of the solar system, forming of the planets, then speedily on to detroit, it having the hardest techno on the motherf*cking planet, and were we with the underground? "yes!" "Are you with the underground!?!" "YES!!" and then came the first song of X101 waveform transmission vol.1 which we know as the jumping song... the beat gets faster and faster, you jump faster and faster...try it, it's fun. :) he played mostly his own stuff, but it was amazing to watch how he worked the decks like a concert pianist, you couldn't really tell what he was doing half the time because his hands were moving so fast! at one point, a record jumped, so he spun it back, it started in time, jumped again, so he took it off and chucked behind his back! value entertainment! if you ever get the chance to see him, don't pass it up, the man was born to spin the discs. jAmz ______________________________ j.p.walsh@bradford.ac.uk || ____________________________|| fEed yOuR hEaD - mEgAdaWg

Indeed, at least not without the senders permission.

Yes, it is fake. There's no MX (or A) RR for that domain. And thirdly, I'd suggest that publishing the e-mail address of someone famous without their permission is rather irresponsible... Cosmic

who was it from? a friend, or i thought perhaps an idmer playing a joke. there is NOTHING in the posting that anyone could mind being sent to other people. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW HOW TO CHANGE USERNAME@HOST !!! *sob*

there was never any chance of it being real, the only reason i posted it to idm was because i found it just when i got back from the orbital concert and was writing to tell you about the reviews anyway.

aw jeeezus.... it's as obvious as the pope on a bike that it's a fake email address, which you yourself have proved, so now i'm not only falling foul to the joke of a net faker, but irresponsibly publishing the email address of rdj? get your ideas together before you flame, please. let no more be said on the subject (unless you can tell me how to send something with a fake username@host :) chill - but if you feel you absolutely _have_ to flame me about this, then send it privately, but there is _nothing_ to flame about. jAmz set delete subject=*Forwarded mail* :) ______________________________ j.p.walsh@bradford.ac.uk || ____________________________|| fEed yOuR hEaD - mEgAdaWg

And thirdly, I'd suggest that publishing the e-mail address of someone famous without their permission is rather irresponsible... I work in a bookstore specializing in computer related books, and there's actually a book out now called "Email addresses of the Rich and Famous". The author didn't ask anyone's permission apparently, and several of the people included are rather pissed of at him. Understandably. ObIDM (You thought I'd forget): I can't recommend Autechre's Basscadet 3 x 10" box set enough.. Snazzy box, 3 10"'s full of some of the most beautiful music i've heard for a long time.. Is this on Warp in the US, or on some other label....? Because I haven't seen the box set over here. The three Warp 10" singles are being sold separately. (UK chart rules allow them to count that as three separate sales for the Basscadet single, you see....) Cosmic

I just listened to the whole thing agains, so let me look over and check.. it's on Warp, i got it from Dave @ Ear/Rational, i think he was buying all 3 singles and putting them together for customers.. Because I haven't seen the box set over here. The three Warp 10" singles are being sold separately.
