Anybody got any recs. on where I should go to start with Patrick Pulsinger? I picked up _Porno_ (partially on the strength of its' title) and am really enjoying it ... what other stuff is in this vein? Thanks ahead of time. J np: Mu-Ziq _Tango NVectif_ Join The Party @www.cpusa.org PS - anybody in the US noticed MBM's "Prime Audio Soup" being used to hock cars for Hyundai? Wasn't this the guy who sang "Why buy into the system" ... ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! My fave is the Sluts and Strings & 909 album 'Carrera'. It's a Pulsinger and Tunakan collab effort, and I'd recommend almost any of the releases done by just the two of them. I'm trying to remember the exact style of 'Porno', because I've only heard it once... 'Carrera' (on Cheap, btw) is a diverse selection of electro tracks, from the more hip-hop intro through the true-blue 80s-ness of 'Put Me On' and the slow-mo jazzy 'Dig This?' to the closing live jam replete with distorted sax. In between are some more abstract tunes and some crazy slap bass madness. If you want something with more lounge stylings, track down some of their 12"s as Restaurant Trax or their (sometimes completely mad) Showroom Recordings stuff. It's all on Cheap Records, once again.. I personally like his *io* series on cheap, including the album Sustain and Release. That Claire track is something. I think it got included on one of the Rebith of Cool series. It was also used on a local TV sports segment down here, which was interesting. My other fave Pulsinger release is the Chapter 1 EP on M-Plant w/ Erdem Tunakan. Austria has an uncanny way of providing slick techno. Porno is much more minimalistic than Dogmatic Sequences. I would recommend Kirlian's Chicken Wings & Beef Fried Rice (disko B 40) and perhaps also his second lp on disko B as going in the direction of Porno.
