I'm just listening to 'It's All Becoming...', that comp of Clear records stuff that came out back in 96. I haven't listened to this for at least a year, I'd guess, but I still love it. Nice chilled bits by Doctor Rockit, Plaid not getting too shiney and tidy, freaky little discrete electro by Clatterbox.. What would people recommend for other stuff like this? NB. One thing I like about the music on this comp is that it's not crunchy and it's not skittery. It also takes electro as its starting point, rather than as the be all and end all, IMO. hi, i got this cd from the library last week too and even though i've already got most of it on vinyl, it made me happy :). well, the easiest way to get similar stuff is too check out what the artists are doing now: clatterbox - busy on lee norris' neo ouija label (www.neoouija.co.uk) & district six. doctor rockit - has his own 'life' label with a doctor rockit album 'indoor fireworks' coming up (well, that's what the matt herbert homepage said around may '99). nice other releases too by donna regina and phil parnell a.o.. also still busy as herbert and most recently as radio boy. no website i think. gescom, plaid - well, you know, i guess. i've always heard that spacepimp was in fact hardcore act Acen.
