I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but if you want to hear
a really nice example of the potential of the combination of guitars &
electronics, you might try listening to David Sylvian's 1986 LP
'Gone to Earth' (Virgin), which features Robert Fripp doing some excellent
guitar work over Sylvian's electronic washes and treatments.. It's really
beautiful (especially the last 5 tracks which have virtually no vocal
parts, with the exception of some little spoken bits in the beginning
of track 8, and the end of track 13).
