I picked up a magazine called Future Music (from the UK) They seemed to be very ambient and techno oriented, unlike Keyboard Magazine here in the US. Last Month they had an interview with The Other Two (New Order). It was very interesting to learn about their setup. (They had an interview with RDJ too!) They also review older synths and their retro-fits for those in the market for some classic sounds. It usually comes with a CD with a few tracks from Listeners & Interviewees and also has a but-load of samples. It's really cool, but a bit expensive here in the US. Later, Larry.

More Magazine fun: As mentioned yesterday, Tower Records' "Pulse" free magazine has a blurb on Ambient Dub. It's reasonably well-informed, with a sidebar on Lee "Scratch" Perry that seemed appropriate, but the weirdest thing was that under a picture of our pal Richie was the identifying tag "Richard.James@Aphex.Twin". Um, what sort of subliminal message is that??? Compound that with the fact that the ad for Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs advertises their email address (mofi@mofi.com), and you begin to wonder... Brian

'DJ' is a completely hopeless magazine with no future, so that's hardly surprising. The only thing that is remotely entertaining in the mag is that chicken cartoon. - chris@minsk.docs.uu.se
