::::LFO VS F.U.S.E. : loop
::Quick (QUICK1)
:Loop (F.U.S.E Mix)
:Loop (LFO Journey Mix)
::Picked this one out of the bargain bin for a whopping $2. The LFO mix
moves along at a very slow 101bpm and really doesn't have much to it. I
have a feeling that even a +8 on the ttable couldn't save this from its
blandness. The F.U.S.E mix was instantly more appealing, moving along at
about 133bpm. Though still not a masterpiece by any standards, this track
somehow manages to capture a groove that LFO couldn't find and turned out
to be quite appealing. I've heard people criticize Richie Hawtin in the
past for being too monotonous and never understood why, but this time, it
shows through. Nice, but have another record nearby.

::This was one of the more expensive records I've bought, but definately
worth it. I've been meaning to review this for ages, but I couldnt get it
off my turntable long enough. Anyway, in a word, brilliant. Its been a
while since I've heard such a diverse bag of tracks wrapped up by a
single musician with such quality. Leaning towards the ambient, you are
faced with stark industrial sounds, threats of arrest "for criminal drug
evasion", and bold rhythms. Reload never lets me guess what coming next,
as we explore his extraterrestrial domain. A very nice collection which
over all has a "soundtrack" feel to it, and needs not rely on those all
to familiar sounds which plague most ambient music of today. But thats
not all, Reload has power. Wicked shuffling beats, raw in the afx
tradition, momentarily break the ambience and go crazy. This has to be
one of my best buys in recent times, ignore it at your own risk.
