------- AMBIENT DUB

>if i give you a record and say "this is techno" you probably wouldn't
>have a clue what it sounds like. ditto "this is ambient." to me,
>ambient means what Brian Eno (and even earlier, Erik Satie) meant it
>to mean: music that you can just as easily NOT listen to. "thursday
>afternoon" is an ambient record. if you can't see the difference
>between that and "slow dance music with real-world sound effects",
>then you don't deserve to use the word.
ok ;)
If anyone else would like to take up my side (PLEASE) then do so now, for
I am away for six weeks.

I'll be at my Dutch address. AMSTERDAM I hear you cry.
Clogs, Tulips, Windmills, Cheese, Pottery, Sin and -oh yes- dope, no VAX,
cheap TRAX, R&S, Wonka, FAX, DRAX, TAMPAX, MAXPAX (all all the other labels
ending in AX), finally CRAX and SMAX. Last time I walked across DAM square I
was offered Coke (the white variant) twice. This time I'm going for the
hattrick.
Anyway, if anyone knows where there is to go to get my IDM in holland, then
write me (please). For those travellers, the way I have discovered it is
thus: Hague ...dead. Amsterdam ...dodgy and avoided by many discerning
(perhaps MILKWEG and the occasional outdoor all-nighter). Rotterdam ...
miserable place containing the best clubs in holland, with funky/hard house,
wicked dancing, lycra pants and groovy tunes (excellent).
Finally, for those enemies of mine who bothered to read my earlier abuse, and
think i have sold them a dodgy address (<70743.317@compuserve.com>) it has
occurred to me that this account may be closed down by now. Best try:
