Right, even though everyone has beaten me to it, I shall not be detered from blowing Beyond's trumpet for them. ------------ Stephen Hebditch <steve@orbital.demon.co.uk> writes:

He is of course totally correct. Not bad though, for off-the-top-of-my-head. What's a city between friends? ----------- mcgraicp <mcgraicp@helios.aston.ac.uk> writes:

Actually I had a chat with Bobby Bird at The George Robey, about a rare T-Shirt and gigs in Oxford. He probably doesn't remember...sound bloke though.

Right, I have them here (for those discography freaks out there): HIA: Live from the back of Beyond (The Total Ambient Groove ) MC: 46 mins A Spectral Solid motion TZ8 B Alien Mind Planet Hoskins JuJu Love What can I say? Classic HIA, faultless production, gorgeous qualities of sound. In case know one knows HIA, the word "filter" springs immediately to mind. There is absolutely no question in passing up this album, should you be offered it. Pity its not on silver (being live does not make it that suitable for DJ's). HIA: Live from Oscillate (The Total Ambient Groove Volume 2) MC: ca. 45 mins A W.H.Y. Speedlearn Genius Island B Spectral <------ inlay card incorrect Ketamine Entity Sub Oscillate 2 Chris (mcgraicp) said it all. This is marginally better than the first, which is difficult. Get it now!

APL: Live From Oscillate MC: 49 mins A Side One B Side Two ;) The unnamed tracks start with The Calling, Hypnosystem......... and end with Universal Message. I wouldn't liken this band to HIA in the same way that Chris <mcgraicp> has. They are certainly different, and most notable for their total "rhythmic control", perfectly demonstrated by the fabulous Hypnosystem. In fact, they are awesome live, and this earlier tape does not fully justify them. But get it anyway...you will not be dissapointed. Other artists to watch out for are mostly to be found on the ADVOL albums. My favourite have to be Insanity Sect, who's Choctaw Ridge ranks among my personal top 10. -------- Cheers B@yond, Charles Wildig <u91clw@ecs.ox.ac.uk> Fallin down a cloud of consciousness
