Ok folks, I think I finally cracked it! It's not too tricky, this definately works for the vinyl version, and 'feels' right. The way to work out which picture goes with which track is to turn the label so the WARP logo is the right way up at the bottom. There will then be a 'pie piece' with it's radius at 12 o'clock. Going clockwise reads off all the tracks. This is consistent with track length, and fits Blue Calx. The pictures on the gatefold *aren't* randomly placed. They correspond to each side of the record. Note the colour coding! Right then here we go the first _Selected Ambient Works II_ track listing. I don't know what you'll think of the picture descriptions, it wasn't easy for some of them :) As for the CD well I don't know whether it will hold or not. We should be able from this though to work out what the extra track is. For reference purposes the first track played on the Radio 1 session (my personal favorite) is the very last track F4 'matchsticks'. Note side letter is etched on the vinyl after cat number. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARP LP21LTD Artist: Aphex Twin Title: Selected Ambient Works II Released: Mar 94 Formats: Limited Edition Brown Vinyl 3xLP 3xLP 2xCD Tracks: 'light green' A1 cliffs [Richard D. That may be true, but there's more than enough information in the diagrams and pies, so you don't have to resort to that. See my separate post for an explanation of the way the pie charts are anotated..... Cosmic

First of all, how about all posts regarding selected ambient works have the subject SAWII: <whatever> so that those who aren't interested can delete or filter at their convenience? anyway... On Wed, 9 Mar 1994, Greg Eden wrote:

Good idea.

I was trying to keep the decription as simple as possible. Any one looking at that knows its a hankie. Plus thats what John Peel said "so it must be right" :)

I think some differences of opinion might be because on the LP you get much bigger pictures on the gatefold bit. These show more than the label pics.

Yeah, I thought this, it's not Lego, but what the fuck, lego's cool!!
quoted 2 lines D2 parallel strips> > D2 parallel strips > > D3 shiny metal rods <----I cant figure out which pics
*Looks a bit like a blurred overexposed pic of a load of 'shiny metal rod'

* Tricky one, looked a bit like a birch twig with a z shaped mark on it. Not at all obvious on label I have too admit. This was easily the most difficult side. They are more obvious if you look at the gatefold.

Pic looks to have a hexagon sahpe in it. Note question mark.

This was the easiest one. It's just a rock with some lichen on it. I have spelt that right haven't I? Lichen as in moss/mold type thing that you get on rocks ?
quoted 1 line Input anyone? ;)> Input anyone? ;)
I think it will be impossible to get everyone to agree to all the track name. Obviously I'm not saying mine are right, but unless anyone can come up with simple titles that are instantly "oh *yeah*" type obvious then thats what I'm sticking too. greg 3 0 3
