I have Colourform, and I must say that it is very good. I've gotta get more H.I.A.!! Anybody have a discog or know of any other albums/singles? Please post, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Don donpierr@netcom.com

I have a 12" by a.p.l. ( = hia's labelmates) called 'the calling' which you might like . this is also on beyond recs. beyond do mail order i think. Try writing to them. hia and apl havent put much stuff out at all, but there are a few odd tracks on the beyond record 'ambient dub' compilations, i think, if not there are other wicked tunes in a similar style anyway. Without a proper discography, my HIA collection consists of: HIA - The total Ambient Groove volume I (live from the back of beyond) HIA - The Total Ambient Groove II (Live from oscillate) HIA - Speedlearn (12") HIA - Colourform (CD) As far as I know the first two are only available on cassette! They are also (as far as I know) their first recordings. A few odd mixes may be found on the excellent Ambient Dub Compilations (For it is Ambient! at least in influence) Or if you are in England see them live, they are awesome (and friendly). The place to write to is: HIA c/o Beyond Records BCM BOX 8098 Birmingham (UK) I think this is right (it should be on the album covers). Beyond offer a mail order service that is run by an essential few. For the most part the same people who run Oscillate (HIA plus one other). Word is that they are going to release another live cassette shortly. HIA have got to be, in my opinion, the best up and coming band on the scene. I for one am pleased that they value their sound on CD and tape as much as on vinyl. It shows that they are not just another DJ orientated dance troupe. (No offense intended)....DJ's I await you hate-mail..smile :) Charles Wildig <u91clw@ecs.ox.ac.uk> Sentinel of the Cerebral City

You're mixing up their London box number and the (old?) Birmingham address. It should be BCM Box 8098 London WC1N 3XX -- Stephen Hebditch TQM Communications steveh@orbital.demon.co.uk
