I've noticed a lot of this here in Milwaukee, the dj attitude, that is. I
think it comes from trying *so* fucking hard to be a rave superstar,
whatever that is. It's one of the reasons I've given up on raves as a form
of meeting new people, but hey, that's fodder for mw-raves, not here.
As for the musicians who *REALLY* make the music (read not the dj's) I
haven't met anyone yet who has anything out there in release land. But I've
heard nothing but good things about these people, even Moby. Some friends
here in Milwaukee met Moby at an after-hours after Ascension last spring and
said he was actually very nice. But I've heard just the opposite from some
people, but this could be because of Moby becoming so dreadfully popular and
his style changing somewhat (re: the whole 'using a guitar on-stage' thing).
BTW, I'm back on the IDM list. =)
