yeah yeah. . .richard james fan club here. . .but not without good reason
caught a *club* version of the nasa SEE THE LIGHT tour last night in beantown
and here's what i heard. . .orbital took to the stage first and proceeded to
recreate their nyc show with amazing accuracy. . .hmmmmmmm. . .let me think
about dat i mean that. . .rich came in next with yet another track that
most likely has no name. . .i'm almost positive he opens each show with
something new. . .then over 1/2 of the rest of the show is also new. . .i dont
mean coming out on vynal new i mean he's making in right there infront of you
new. . .jazz musicians call it iprov. . .but you may scream sequential improv?
all i can say is go see for yourself. . .this is the kind of creative canyon
that separates the aphex twin from groups like orbital and moby. . .who turn
out the same songs every city every show. . .same tracks. . .anyway back to
the music maker. . .track two was a heavy acid bomber that sounded sneakingly
similar to some of the universal red material. . .303 with the rj twist. . .
so maybe he had something to do with those red and blue gems. . .or maybe it
was just a sick joke to play on R&S. . .THE APHEX TWIN. . .next came the most
entrancing piano intro that gives way to a bass bin frenzy. . .and serious
aphex beauty. . .one full on hardcore track followed. . .and then came the
digerdoo. . .ptolemy. . .and some more new stuff. . .and he was gone. . .
moby came in and started *rapping* and i had to bolt. . .fast. . .good night
