Whether answering to Sid LeRock, Gringo Grinder, or Shelbono
"Barracuda" del Monte, this Toronto native now living in Cologne is a
man of wry charm and multiple musical masks. Under his Pan/Tone
alais, the two time MUTEK veteran takes sweaty minimal techno and
injects gnarling basslines, distorted synths, and a whisky-soaked
party vibe to create his signature "Rockno" sound. Come see for your
self why the Germans call him "The Craziest Woodsman in Canada!"

The life and times of the former Sheldon Thompson, aka PAN/TONE:
Native to the northern regions of Ontario where ice fishing and
ski-doos are all the rage, Shelbono LeRoche currently lives in
Cologne, Germany with at least 20 bars in walking distance (the
closest one is where you might suspect to find him.) With over 20
releases, 3 albums in 2004-2005 alone, the man with many faces is
bouncing and crashing his way around the world to bring new breath of
sounds to dancefloors under the alias's of PAN/TONE (sub-static,
sender/kompakt, 240 Volts), SID LeROCK (Ladomat2000, Mute) and GRINGO
GRINDER (Onitor). With a steady output of releases, he has seen one of
his busiest years unfold with great success, coming with the privilege
of seeing many new cities and meeting many like minded individuals.
With more production under way for future releases under all names,
Shelbono has been commited to detoxing himself to better health to
prepare himself again for 2006. The neighbours now find themselves
lucky to be next to a producer preparing for his next album(s) in the
midnight hours.
A warning to the promoters: Please make sure to tell him who he is
performing as in advance...things become a little fuzzy after a few
drinks...make sure to repeat, then send him on his way and all will be
fine...the music and the moment will meet its maker. Music will then
be very LOUD and the boys will be screaming like little girls and the
girls will be dancing all over your nice furniture... piss drunk like
a sailor.... which is exactly what happened at all of the following
clubs and/or festivals:

loft club, barcelona/city hall, valencia/bencassim festival,
madrid/rumble, granada/moshi club. SWITZERLAND: zurich/dackcantine.
TURKEY: istanbul/rock n coke festival. USA: detroit/the shelter, new
york/centro-fly.
