Just received the latest from Lackuster on U-Cover records and it's very nice. The artwork is lovely and the music keeps that classic Lackluster feel while sounding more advanced and mature. For those wondering, it sounds nothing like Spaces (which was an ambient album) and is full of gentle beats and pleasant melodies. Kudos! I second this. Really great stuff. It's Lackluster, but much more so! Really like the range here. Haven't heard Spaces, but this is definitely a step forward from works like Wrapping and Container (not to take anything away from those). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I was never a big fan of Lackluster's earlier material (namely his releases on Monotonik & Defocus), but i was very impressed with Showcase on Merck, & was surprised that it was so good as lot of those tracks were from the same time period. Some of the tracks on Showcase are superb, when he mixes his very melodic sense with good themes and beat constructions. Haven't heard Slice yet, but anxiously await it. well there is going to be one more injection of container/cdr#2 era material (1996-2000) out , on 27th of october 2005, on new-speak records, distributed by baked goods. lackluster - what you want isnt what you need new speak (nspk008cd) (cd) releasedate: 27.10.2005 / 27th of october 2005 01. bkt 02. kosmos7 03. hiatus 04. down 05. n 06. sizehoay 07. the cluster theme 08. 0today8 09. swamped 10. dropouts http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=18738 http://www.new-speak.com after that no more lookin bak. im thru with having container/cdr#2 as the albatross on my neck, weighin me down. slice and wrapping are closer to me than container/cdr#2 ever will be. but opinions are opinions. enjoy the cold buzz of 10 year old material while it lasts.
