Hi everyone - some of you'll have heard that the XBox360 (Microsoft's next games console) would be shipping with an interactive visualiser. What that *means* is a performance-oriented, multi (four-)user lightsynth which can also operate in beat-tracking mode. It's really, really jaw-droppingly pretty. I'm expecting to run into a few of these in clubs once it's out. (It was written by Jeff Minter and Ivan Zorzin at Llamasoft. If there are any old 8-bit/ST/Amiga heads lurking on the list, those names should mean something :) ) There are a couple of demo videos floating around (quicktime format, and over 100MB each, so not very dialup-friendly!). Music for the demos was provided by Redpoint and Covert of Hidden Music - http://www.hiddenmusic.co.uk/ (for full disclosure, I should admit that I'm involved with the label). Redpoint - "Tundra" (actually, only the first half of the track...) (from "Protect and Survive") http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/media/neon/movies/neontundrabig.mov Covert - "Rainsong" (from "Unseen Rulers") http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/media/neon/movies/neonrainsongbig.mov cheers, Andrew --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
