I've had a promotion CD of this for a week now. The first listen was a little disappointment, but it has grown on me. It's some sort of weird mix of jungle and electro (!!) with the distinct Autechre trademarks on top. The first track absolutely rocks, once you get used to the weird sounds. this is their "Tied Up" as far as I'm concerned - a bit different from their other work, and very meaty. A bit like Garbage, the 4 tracks on the CD gradually mutate towards a mellow feel, though the overall level is a lot less mellow than Garbage. UK People - Points to note from the promo press sheet - Autechre are touring the UK soon, and there will be a Peel Session on October 15th - that's a Sunday I believe. Also they are hoping to get the video aired on the Chart Show. (well half of it I suppose - having seen the Chart Show recently I was shocked at how short they cut the videos now.)
