Dunno what ever became of Phonem. www.phonem.de used to be his website, but it's been down for ages. The Morr site doesn't make any reference that he's a current artist or that now defunct website. The only mention of Phonem on the Morr site is in the back catalog section where they have info on his releases. I can't say for sure, but judging from the way the Spike 12" sounds and they way PBO sounds, I really doubt it was a collaboration.
quoted 2 lines does anyone know whatever happened to Phonem? I mean, seriously, I LOVE that guys stuff. J>does anyone know whatever happened to Phonem? I mean, seriously, I LOVE that guys stuff. Just perfect. He was also involved in the >Spike project on Beta Bodega with... PBO (although discogs says it was just Phonem)? I really wish he would have done more than a 12".

Bad news: no more Phonem records. Good news, from the Morr Music newsletter: Phonem is dead - Long live Elliot Perkins Three years after Phonem released his last album "Ilisu" on Morr Music, he finally re-emerges with his new album "Eurodac Express". Having discharged his former artist moniker, he releases it under his real name Elliot Perkins for Ultra Red's Public Rec. The press release says: "Originally commissioned for Manchester's Futuresonic Festival in 2002, EURODAC EXPRESS began as a collaboration between Elliot and the internationally-renowned photographer Shahidul Alam from the DRIK Project in Bangladesh - whose regular practice involves working with migrants in the sub-continent. - Andrew -- http://covertmusic.com/hidden/ | yet another tiny record label --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
