Totally absurd, vague, superficial, and above all, subjective. Guys, do you want better topics for you forum? Forgive ME for saying this, but I don't think this looks very constructive, or clear. On Thursday, Nov 18, 2004, at 04:59 US/Eastern, R.P. wrote:

The design may leave something to be desired--I did it, and I take no offense other than your critique is vague, badly timed, and misdirected (why should anyone outside the scope and range of my bar give any time to considering my flyer design in the context of a music forum?) But DMX Krew will rock, and my bad (in your opinion) design in this instance should not be held against him at all. It just means I shouldn't be hired by any design firm based on it, if they hold your opinion as well. That aside, what's with the political stance on flyer esthetic? Trying to sell something? Or just run out of interesting topics? Seems an absurd discussion to me since it's largely subjective and out of anyone's range of control--ESPECIALLY after the fact. I run a business, and I do all the advertising and marketing for it. Can't please all the people all the time. I'm happy if some are pleased some of the time. I'm also happy to take suggestions of how to achieve my same goals using different tricks from a professional designer who knows PS7, as I suffer from no delusion that I am the best at it. If you're one of those pros, then you'd be far more constructive if you emailed me privately and gave me some tips you think I could use. In that case, I'd welcome your input. Otherwise, who cares WHAT you think? My flyer is hardly the worst there is, and shouldn't be used as an example by people who aren't involved in the process to critique it on a music forum. For those interested less in such squabbling over details and more in music--EDMX is flying in today to play a great show for us and you. If you're in range and you can make it, I hope to see you. In fact, I'll even put you on the guest list if you email me privately, as I simply think it would be a shame for you to miss it. Ciao, Cathryn

NICE work for bringing DMX Krew out to Lakewood. I went to college near there (in Oberlin) a few years back, and I know that good shows in the area are hard to come by. FWIW, i think your flyer is cool. cathryn sunday wrote:

Word. The guy who does my fliers is a fucking genius, and he never sees a penny from me. I'm surprised he still does them for me. That reminds me, I need to dump some off at his place so he can sell them if he likes. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
