hundreds of record stores around the world can legally sell used cds without a bat of eyelash. when you buy a cd, you are not buying music, you are buying copyrighted product with 'all rights reserved' of barcoded glory. i can almost promise you, that every legitimate cd you own will have some sort of tag lined which can be paraphrased like so, "all rights of the manufacturer and the recorded work are reserved. unauthorised public performance broadcasting and copying of the recording prohibited etc etc"
with that said, once you buy a cd, you own the physical product of a compact disc, not the information/music that it carries. you can do what you want with the disc itself. you simply cannot do what you want with the music, beyond enjoy it in the privacy of your own home, car, yard whatever.
so, selling your used copy of big loada for 3 bucks on ebay is no different that selling a mint copy of that beatles album with the butcher's aprons and naked babies for 3000.
anyway, i am deighv, and i am new to the list
