Ah - the new String Theory is (IMO, of course), a stellar record which should be bought immediately. The grain of salt with which the following statement should be taken is that I am a full time grad student and full time worker, so I don't really get to hear much of the music which travels through my hands - sometimes until far after the fact. The statement is that I feel "Radiovalerian" is heads & shoulders above much of the paint-by-numbers electronic music out there these days. This one seems to reach just a bit deeper for a rich sound palette (and I love good "sounds") and a bit farther beyond the crowd when it comes to drawing in influences. If I have to make a particular comparison, it would be to Bola. If I can get general, I'd say it moves toward the mid/late 90s ambient/idm crisscross period - lush and layered. Again, I don't get the chance to listen to nearly as much as I'd like these days, but this found it's way into my CD changer and I'm having a hard time getting it out. jeff (no - I do not have this up on eBay right now :-) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
