Some of you all, that fall between the ages of 21 and 35, might remember
a little something we used to do around here back a few years ago.
I used to live in a big, swank house with some roommates. We had a pool,
hottub, fireplace, and a room full of computers, our Master Control
Room. What a great house that was. What a great house for PARTIES.
Back in those days, we used to throw 2 big parties every year. Our new
years parties, which were really, really fun. And of course, our biggest
party of the year, our Gemini party.
Now, for those of you that are unaware, the sign of the Gemini has
produced most of the finest people in the history of the world. People
like Queen Victoria, Paul Gaugin, Mr. Rogers, M.C. Escher, Ralph Waldo
Emerson, Bob Dylan, and Immanuel Velikovsky, amongst others. Count
Cagliostro (the famous rougue) and the Marquis De Sade were also Geminis
- both were born on my birthday.
Plus, most of my dearest friends are Geminis. S.S, C.I., D.K, S.U., C.B,
C.B., C.D., and many many others.
Thus, I've always thought of it as my duty to celebrate those of us that
are hermetically blessed with verbal acumen, keen insight, and a
dual-natured personality during that time of year most conducive to our
particular gifts.
As a result of the aforementioned mercurial nature of the sign, as well
as the verbal/symbolic adroitness of those born between May and June 21,
these parties have always been the CAT'S WHISKERS! Everyone had a great
time, always, always. At one such party, one of the Geminis (currently a
member of the Armenian Poker Cartel) actually GOT ARRESTED just outside
of the house, WENT TO JAIL, BONDED OUT, and CAME BACK TO THE
MOTHERF***ING PARTY! It was that hardcore.
Unfortunately, nothing ever lasts. We all moved out of the house, went
our separate ways, and we've only had one Gemini party since then - at
the Kit Kat Club, back when it was still open.
But, no longer shall my brethren of the House of Romulus and Remus go
without their fair recognition. We're bringing back the tradition, and
we can pull it off like never before.
So THIS WEEK - MAY 31, EZRPM WILL PLAY HOST TO THE FIRST GEMINI PARTY
THESE PARTS HAVE SEEN FOR YEARS AND YEARS.
AND YOU CAN COME TOO. (even if you're not a gemini).
What's more, the evening's entertainment will be just the kind of
sparkling, intellectual sounds that the Twins like to hear.
I'll personally be belting out all my greatest hits. Xenlab will kick
the wicked mp3 mashups, and Manteis will be providing a stunning set to
complete the auditory trifecta.
AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH - we all know that geminis love video games,
and so we selected this occasion to present:
The First Annual Back Booth Time Pilot Tournament of Stars!
You know Time Pilot. You played it as a kid, you've played it in the
Back Booth green room, now come play for VALUABLE PRIZES! First place
gets a $50 bar tab.
So really, people.... do you need any other excuse? You do? Well how
about the fact that it's MEMORIAL DAY, and you don't have to be at
work?!? This party will be the perfect way to wrap up your three day
weekend, celebrate my, and my astrological compatriots, birthdays; show
off your video game skills, drink awesome beers, and more generally,
remember why it's so much fun to be alive.
So, without further elaboration, I present the facts:
