wow... i'd no idea that people hated "do you know squarepusher" so much! personally, it's one of my favorite things he's ever put out... i feel like it pushes the envelope programming-wise and also remains incredibly musically accessible for the most part... especially the title track and "f-train" really strike me... the flipside disc never really appealed to me all that much, but perhaps it's because i never really gave it too many listens... but the studio stuff... i guess i'd consider it more like an EP than an album since it's so short... at any rate, i find it to be a really impressive standard and collection of work. when i first heard the single-sided vinyl version of "do you know squarepusher" i thought i was going to have to kill myself. i mean that in a really good way. love, -franklin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

hahaha i totally know what you mean, i love that track - its just a real education in imaginative production and programming, what a talent :) -- bobule@partyvibe.com | www.partyvibe.com/bobule mobile: 07976 570284 | www.streetbeats.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

now that really is boring, it sounded great when it came out first, but it just sounds dated and dull now. the individual bass rifs and overall sound is still pretty cool, but there isn't enough variation in there (doesn't need to be complex dsp fuckery variation, any kind will do). The only exception is that one track that changes between 3-4 different tracks with the same little interlude between each bit. It was towards the end, can't remember it's name. ...skism

Oh I totally agree about the single. It definitely stands on its own as an amazing song. But I find the rest of the album to be tedious, irritating and un-musical. And that ridiculous "can't blame me" manifesto doesn't make any of it easier to swallow. -Aaron
