Just got the Rhythm and SOund w/ The Artists album. Really stunning dubbed out reggae. Bit of a question tho: Anyone know what is the relationship with Basic Channel, Chain Reaction, Rhythm and Sound, Burial Mix and all these other labels on the basicachannel.com website? Like is Basic Channel an umbrella label for these smaller ones? Is it the same people or like various people/friends involved in various overlapping labels? The catalog number for the Rhythm and Sound is a Burial Mix #, and it lists the basicchannel.com website. cheers, thor |- highpoint lowlife records winter collection 2003\ |---- n.ln // fisk industries // si-cut.db --------\ |---- http://www.highpointlowlife.com ---------------\ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

www.gel-sol.com Happy New Year! Man, am I glad 2003 is outta here...what a shit year. But now my optimism is restored. I got a new website. It kicks ass. Well, it doesn't kick ass, but its alright. There's some new tunes up there, check it out: Monolithix - Ambient piece. Outtake from "Music Made For You..." sessions. The World is Behind Them - another ambient piece. Outtake from "Music Made For You..." sessions; performed at various live shows. Anambi (remix) - This of a remix of my good pal Neil Hetrick, aka Siloen. He was kind enough to let me mutilate this piece of fine dancewerk. Birth of Urchin - Outtake from "Music Made For You..." sessions. Generic Anthropomorph #16 - Outtake from "Music Made For You..." sessions. Played at various live shows. There's also a link to a video of one of my performances at the State Theatre. Many thanks to Jim at Gearshift for putting the vid together! So have a browse around...don't forget to check out the news and shoze section...I will be playing up in NYC on January 31st. Go to www.enlightenedproductions.org for more info. I belive this is accurate, but feel free to make corrections. Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus make up Basic Channel, Maurizio, and Rhythm & Sound. They're responsible for pretty much every release on the Basic Channel, M-Series, Main Street, Burial Mix and Rhythm & Sound labels. Chain Reaction is currently their label for releasing the works of other artists. The Wackie's run is a series of reissues of releases on the Wackie's label run by Lloyd "Bullwackies" Barnes in the early to mid 80s. Basic Replay is intended to be a series of dub/reggae reissues handpicked by the pair. Also, the pair ran Imbalance for a while before handing off control to Robert Henke aka Monolake.
