The break out artist at 2003?s MUTEK, SONAR, LOWLANDS, and pretty much any
festival he appears at, T. RAUMSCHMIERE is the alias of 27 year-old
Berliner, Marco Haas. Producing music since 1997 on his own label
Shitkatapult as well as for standout imprints such as Cologne?s Kompakt,
Berlin's Sender, and Chicago's Hefty Records, his gnarled bass-lines (known
in German as ?Gnarzigkeit?) have become his stylistic device. His brand of
?minimalism? is to achieve the ?maximum? with as few means as possible ?
with a decidedly punk ethos: why go for sterile minimalism when you can rock
out? This bluntness influences the T. Raumschmiere sound: bass sequencing
with scratched up, brushed down beats and no unnecessary breaks in the
sound. With his new release on Novamute, the fantastic RADIO BLACKOUT,
T.RAUMSCHMIERE takes his place on a roster boasting the likes of Richie
Hawtin, Speedy J, Si Begg, Thomas Brinkmann and Luke Slater.
?Perhaps no act evoked punk rock more effectively than Marco Haas, the
Berlin-based electronic producer who performs as T. Raumschmiere. At an
unsanctioned CMJ event called "We Sold Our Souls for Minimal Techno," he
played a raucous 2 a.m. set, mixing concussive beats with fuzzy blocks of
sound that resembled power chords. He jumped around so violently that
audience members had to prevent him from knocking his equipment to the
ground.?

Butcher Shop set alongside Telefon Tel Aviv, Perspects, and Dabrye), the
anticipation for his return performance has been building since... This is

Founder and proprietor of the heavyweight label BPITCHCONTROL, ELLEN ALLIEN
gave birth to her network to cultivate and promote creative potential.
Staunch in her support for her hometown of Berlin, her 2001 debut
"Stadtkind" was a dedication to the city which not only stirred attention
towards her own musical talents, but also brought attention to the structure
of her label in the context of electronic music in Germany and Berlin. With
the onset of numerous BPitch Control label parties, she presents herself
anew each time within the collective. Her latest release, "Berlinette", also
takes up Berlin as a theme while incorporating her experiences over the past
years. As always, she is keen on new developments, gracing her next album
with further mental experimentation.
Having moved the masses at I LOVE TECHNO, AWAKENINGS, SONAR and LOVE PARADE,
ELLEN ALLIEN'S genre spanning sets are few and far between in North America.

"What does Apparat do so well then? He transforms his idea of the world into
such a fragile sound shell that one gets goose bumps, almost interrupting
breath, wondering how this sound in codes can exist. His freeing up of
layers, that others sonically stack on top of one another, make room for a
series of interpretations that were not meant to be this much. But precisely
this is exactly the wonderful thing about it.

Sascha Ring a.k.a. APPARAT jumped on board the Shitkatapult in 2001, and
along with Marco Haas (T.RAUMSCHMIERE), has been splitting head honcho
duties ever since. Musically, Sascha is occupied with noise construction,
often consulting the expert advice of random modulation algoriddms. Often
this results in a sedate electronic sound tarnished by regularly scheduled
acoustic defects. He plans to reinforce the shitkatapult world domination
plan via auditory enslavement of the masses.
