I would like to play around with programming stuff for my own pleasure... and who knows... maybe play out sometime... but any suggestions for the best place to start as far as software goes? What works well... isn't too cheesy... etc.... is it PC? I'm gonna have to say FL Studio http://www.flstudio.com/ For PC only unfortunately but the learning curve isn't too steep and you can download a full functioning demo (no save).
