my first take on "Scrypt" needs to be rather
drastically revised, im embarrased to say :)
while the album at many points surprisingly references
rock (and maybe even shoegaze once or so), the album
as a whole is really very much an electronic one. and
he does noodle (in good ways).
i dont know what gave me such an initial strong
impression that it was so rock oriented! i listened to
the samples of the album on Thrill Jockey's web site
(
http://tinyurl.com/nr8k) after posting the first
review, and said to myself "what the hell was i
thinking". oh well.
there *are* rock elements (especially the track Thrash
Application :). but it is *definately* an electronic
album.
all the same, in spite of the misimpressions, it is an
excellent release!!!
sorry about the confusion (blush)
