Speaking of KMFDM, I "aquired" a promo of their new album WWIII and I've been listening to it a bunch. Music-wise, there is nothing terribly new here. If you didn't like KMFDM before, this is not gonna turn you around, but to these ears, its pretty fucking fun. In terms of lyrical content, KMFDM has always been political, but this album is the most focused and well-executed one they've ever done. Obviously, they have a lot to talk about in 2003, but they do it better than I'd have expected.
Also, there is a sort of sequel to the Sucks track from Angst that is pretty funny.
Speaking of funny, has anyone else heard the promo of the new Randy "Macho Man" Savage single? I reccomend you track that down, because I haven't laughed that hard in a while. And laughing is good. Its called Be a Man and its a fucking diss track on Hulk Hogan! If you don't bust up in the first 15 seconds, you have no soul (or are uncommonly unfamiliar with WWF vets from the eighties).
Back to KMFDM for a sec though... when was the Brute artwork ever under that kind of scrutiny? You'd have to be pretty dense to misconstrue KMFDM for a band with any kind of mysoginistic message.
Oh... every now and then I have put on some Venetian Snares for the uninitiated, most often with disasterous results. He really does use some of those uncomfortable sound frequencies, doesn't he?
