It's not. However, the a-side is ace and the 2 others are growing on me. The remix is "exclusive" as it's not going to be on the next Bug single (Gun Disease) Obviously Aphex has got into noise - Maybe touring with Satanstornade did it? On the noise tip, has anyone checked out the recently released Merzbow remix set? Very nice work from Plug and Bola amongst others. -i. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hey Shawn. Thanks for the post. I've downloaded it, but when running the program it acts like it's going to launch and then quits almost immediately. Am I missing something? Does it only run on Jaguar? Curious. -vis-you On Thursday, June 19, 2003, at 01:39 AM, Shawn Hatfield wrote:

Now we're talking .... I haven't seen a full blown noise discussion here for ages. Does anyone have any good noise recommendations? Merzbow is the king as far as I'm concerned and can be surprisingly subtle with his more ambient noise recording - but I've been getting into K K Null recently as well. Oh, and V/VM's blue version of Sometime Good Things Happen is also worth checking out. I saw Four Tet a while ago and was surprised at how noisy it was - he was basically remixing his tracks live using Audiomulch and manged to mutate some of them into pure noise loops. Recommended if you can catch him live. Glenn

If you dig digital noise/dense glitch like schematic stuff that melds into the pantheon of post-structure breakcore, make sure to check out the label "Index" from france. They have at least four releases out...check them all, but especially the first one. http://indexrecords.free.fr/ Although their site is down right now. i also got a comp LP from this label, "Byteburger" its good stuff, in the vein of dat politics, otto von schirach, abstract, fun, at times melodic. although its not as overly processed as most of ottos doink. http://byteburger.free.fr - cutups ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Jones" <liminal18@mac.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Thursday, June 19, 2003 5:42 AM Subject: Re: [idm] Noise (was smojphace? no comments?)

I believe the recent Kevin Drumm album on Mego "Sheer Hellish ...." is amazing. More low end sounds than Merzbow. Loud noise on headphones makes me feel wierd. Kevin Drumm - Land Of Lurches is a great album. its on Hanson Records, features an odd looking seal with big claws as the art. very very violent audio. Massimo's Mort Aux Vaches CD is very nice as well. for some blissful noise check out Rosy Parlane's album Getxo and his collaboration with Pita (Rosenberg 7" single) and speaking of Pita.....Get Out (CD on Mego, LP on Moika) always does the trick, as well as, Get Down (LP only, Mego) which is playful and doesnt take itself to seriously. Pita's live at cbgb mp3 from slapart (slapart.com) is some nice metalic ambience. Glenn McClements wrote:
