MIDWEST PRODUCT Operating in the growing hybrid genre of
electro-rock, Midwest Product combines live instrumentation
with electronics to create music which is both danceable
and engaging. Tight, witty, intelligent and pop-worthy,
this is electronic with an indie-rock soul; taking the best
of both worlds to form something wholly new and yet
familiar. The Ann Arbor, MI-based trio ?- Ben
Mullins(electronics/guitar), Chad Pratt (drums) and Drew
Schmeding(bass/keys) -- released their debut album,
Specifics, on Ghostly International in 2002.
DYKEHOUSE A genius amalgamation of guitar rock and bedroom
programming, Dykehouse (born Mike Dykehouse) is a one-man
army of musical ideas and innovation. Hailing from
Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dykehouse went on to start recording
IDM-styled tracks in the mid-90s before attending art
school. After sending his infamous ?Diet Glue EP? demo to
UK labels such as Aphex Twin?s Rephlex and Mike Paradinas?
(Mu-Ziq) Planet Mu, many of Dykehouse?s collected works
were compiled by the latter. His debut album, Dynamic
Obsolescence, earned him a place among the international
electronic community, simultaneously earning a slot at the
inaugural Detroit Electronic Music Festival.
KILL MEMORY CRASH For over 10 years, Alex and Adam of
Chicago's Kill Memory Crash have been developing their own
blend of dark electronic music without major release, until
now. Having started their musical career in Detroit, Kill
Memory Crash began performing at raves and warehouse
parties in the mid-to-late 90's, slowly translating their
leftfield influences into their own cryptic language.
Standing on the dividing lines between techno and other
musics forced the duo to develop their own style and early
works resembled dark chasms of industrial noise. Their
indifference to the popular styles of the day led them into
an almost self-imposed exile from the music business and
only extremely limited vinyl pressings ever surfaced. Alex
and Adam have honed their music to its current state, a
sinister blend of industrial, ambient, and IDM, working
away at the boundaries that held them as outsiders until
now.
