I've honestly wondered this myself. Everytime I go to a labtop show I
usually try find a way to see whats happening on the computer screen, which
usually involes a compromise in the listening experience, or in comfort.
Most of these shows have been at a venue where they have TV's through out
the joint all running off the same video feed, in addition to a large
projection screen. Most Macs come standard with an S-vid out now, right?
and the vast majority of labtop performances I've seen have been courtesy of
a powerbook.
I can't think of anything better than sitting comfortably, sipping my drink
of choice while I watch someone manipulate what I'm hearing... while two
women suck me off. Not only does it share ideas like work
environment/methods and software of choice, but it's a bit more 'live' than
the back of a monitor. Even from a non-computer musican's point of view
this seems much more interesting than watching some dooche-bag push buttons.
